L-00 Style Tiger Myrtle and a Marri Resonator

Just a quick post to say that I have a new section for guitars that have been built with Australian tonewoods. Two guitars are featured for December thru to January. More detailed information is available at Australian Tonewoods. www.australiantonewoods.com

Ross Coole, a local luthier from Perth, has made a square necked Resonator out of Curly Marri with Lace Sheaok Bindings. I will endeavour to post some information regarding Marri soon.

Steve Patience (USA) has constructed a cutaway based on a L-00 1930 using some spectacular Tiger Myrtle back and sides to good effect. sunningI have recently received some Tiger mlrtle with this figure which would be dried out enough by May 2007.

Tim,

Any chance we'll see Hesh's black beauty on there some time?

Ooooh that's soooo pretty. Flamed Tarkine Tiger, sounds like something you might eat at a Bangkok BBQ. Hey, that would make Hesh's Blackie the char grilled version

Tim, Scott Wise has used Marri with good success, he mentions that it is one of his favourite West Aussie tonewoods and Ross Coole's resonator also shows that it is a winner in the looks dept as well.

Thanks for posting

Cheers

Myrtle is a very beautiful wood. I long to build with it one day.

Perhaps if I get to #10....
